In a technology driven world, Business Excellence is mainly driven by IT Excellence. Under IT Excellence we understand all the fundamentals which should be in place in a Technology department in order to achieve Customer Satisfaction or even Customer Delight. Quality of delivery, Operational Excellence or Cost reductions could be other reasons to achieve Excellence.
This means at least that:
· All fundamental processes of Service Management (such as. ITIL 4) are in place;
· All fundamental processes of Project/Program and Portfolio Management are in place;
· All fundamental processes of Governance are in place;
· People in the Technology department are applying the above-mentioned processes;
· And that the necessary supporting tools are available.
Many companies embark on large transformation programs, without having completed the fundamentals of a smooth-running Technology environment.
